This is the first of a three-part series that features CEOs who have successfully exited (or recapitalized) a Shore portfolio company. This episode features Chad Smith, the co-founder and CEO of BrightView Health, a company that operates outpatient addiction treatment clinics. Chad shares how he and his co-founders weren’t initially looking to start a big company, but rather serve the communities with the highest needs. This empathetic approach was an important part of his eventual partnership and alignment with Shore Capital. BrightView now operates over 85 clinics.

BrightView (Cincinnati, OH) is an outpatient addiction medicine practice based on clinical best practices and outcomes measures. Through the use of medical treatment in conjunction with psychological and social services, BrightView delivers the necessary support to help patients meet both their mental and physical goals.

Brandy Hamar is a Patient Loyalty Manager at Community Care Partners (“CCP”). Brandy’s Everyday Hero story began when she returned to work after years of being a stay-at-home mom. Brandy started at the front desk at one urgent care clinic. She now manages patient loyalty across the approximately 100 CCP clinics. This is her story of personal and professional growth.

CCP represents a network of urgent care and primary care clinics. CCP provides the following services in addition to urgent care and primary care services: laboratory and radiology services, treatment of fractures / lacerations, immunizations, occupational health and medicine, work-related injuries, physical therapy, and on-site prescriptions. The company has locations in Oregon, Washington, Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, Texas, and Louisiana.

Scott Bullock started his career as a golf pro. He became the co-founder and president of EyeSouth Partners, an industry leader in ophthalmology. This wasn’t an easy or obvious jump. So, we wanted to learn from Scott how it happened and some of the lessons learned along the way.
